Limited mobility Print

There are plenty of ways to spend a great day in Belém and travel with accessibility in mind. Our tour revolves around Praça do Império, (Imperial Square) which offers the greatest amount of museums and science-related venues adapted to those with limited mobility. We can set off on the discovery of our history from this magnificent square, created by Cottinelli Telmo and Vasco Lacerda Marques for the Portuguese World Exhibition in 1940. We begin at  the Archaeology Museum, which speaks to us of a remote, distant past. After, we can pay a visit to the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Jerónimos Monastery) to appreciate the church and its cloister. For those who wish to know the mysteries of the cosmos, there is nothing better than stopping off at the Planetarium. Finally, to end the day, we recommend relaxing on one of the pleasant terrace esplanades that face the river Tagus from the Belém Cultural Centre.
