Although it has seen some changes throughout the centuries, the residential area of Rua Vieira Portuense, parallel to the Rua de Belém, preserves its 1500s/1600s traits of most of its buildings. The three buildings that rest on pillars are particularly interesting. Nowadays this street facing the Vasco da Gama garden sizzles with activity due to its many restaurants and esplanades.
